Accidentally deleted or overwritten a file? Don’t worry — if you're covered by one of Fusion IT’s backup solutions, we can usually recover it quickly and securely. Here's how to request a restore and what to expect.
What Can Be Restored
Depending on your backup setup, we may be able to recover:
Individual files or folders from servers or backed-up workstations
Shared drive or departmental folders
Previous versions of files
Microsoft 365 data (emails, OneDrive, SharePoint files, etc.)
However, files may not be recoverable if:
They were deleted a long time ago, and your backup retention period has passed
They were stored in a location that isn't backed up, such as a local-only folder on a device not covered by your plan (e.g. Desktop or C:\ drive of a personal machine)
We’ll always do our best to recover what we can — but recovery depends on what’s included in your backup plan and how long the data has been missing.
What We Need to Restore a File
To help us find the correct version as quickly as possible, please provide:
File or folder name
Where it was stored (e.g. Shared drive, OneDrive, Documents folder)
When it was last known to be correct or accessible
Whether it was deleted or overwritten
Any other versions you’d like recovered, if available
The more specific the information, the quicker we can assist.
