Teams or Zoom Not Connecting? Try These Quick Fixes

Before logging a support request, try these simple fixes if you're struggling to connect to Teams or Zoom.


1. Restart the App and Your Device

  • Close the app completely (check the system tray too)

  • Reboot your device and try again — this often clears stuck connections


2. Sign Out and Back In

  • For Teams: Click your profile > Sign out, then sign in again

  • For Zoom: Use the sign-out option from the top-right menu and reconnect


3. Test Your Internet Connection

  • Run a speed test at speedtest.net

  • If possible, switch from Wi-Fi to Ethernet

  • Restart your router if other services also seem slow or unresponsive


4. Close Bandwidth-Heavy Applications

  • Streaming services, cloud backups, and large downloads can reduce Teams/Zoom quality

  • Pause OneDrive/Dropbox syncs and try again
