Before logging a support request, try these simple fixes if you're struggling to connect to Teams or Zoom.
1. Restart the App and Your Device
Close the app completely (check the system tray too)
Reboot your device and try again — this often clears stuck connections
2. Sign Out and Back In
For Teams: Click your profile > Sign out, then sign in again
For Zoom: Use the sign-out option from the top-right menu and reconnect
3. Test Your Internet Connection
Run a speed test at speedtest.net
If possible, switch from Wi-Fi to Ethernet
Restart your router if other services also seem slow or unresponsive
4. Close Bandwidth-Heavy Applications
Streaming services, cloud backups, and large downloads can reduce Teams/Zoom quality
Pause OneDrive/Dropbox syncs and try again
5. Use the Browser Version
If the desktop app fails to connect:
Try Teams in your browser: https://teams.microsoft.com
Or Zoom in your browser via the meeting invite link
